Journée Grand Siècle à Vaux-le-Vicomte

A unique experience of the French way of life, for those who are passionate about period costumes or simply curious, a journey through the "Grand Siècle" (17th century France) of Louis XIV and Nicolas Fouquet!

A day themed around the 'Grand Siècle' (17th century France)
A family residence, but also a centre for the parties of the period hosted by Nicolas Fouquet, the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte invites you to don your best outfits to experience a day at the court in the 17th century.
The productions, real visual pleasures both for the costumes and the accessories, are each more elegant than the next, aiming to earn the prize of the most impressive lunch on the grass.
At the end of the day the parade, organised by Calixte de Nigremont, will give prizes to the best male, female and child's costumes as well as – new this year – the most impressive fantasy costume!

Activities for all
Shows and parades of musketeers will set the pace for this exceptional day, while demonstrations of baroque dances will lift spirits. A baroque music concert will be given from 14:00 to 16:00 on the south terrace of the château.
To set off on an adventure, rides in a horse-drawn carriage (with additional charge) are also offered to visitors.

Enjoy a good atmosphere and a privileged moment of exchange with family or friends, in the ideal setting of the formal garden created by Le Nôtre.
