The land of Primates

Inaugurated in the autumn of 2016, Terre des Singes is a new animal park inviting you to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of a particular russet-coloured primate: the Barbary macaque, also known as the magot, whose home territory extends from the northern Sahara Desert into southern Europe.

Terre de Singes shares the same respectful philosophy as its close neighbour, Parc des Félins, and covers some 20 hectares. Each day, visitors are invited to meet and discuss with the knowledgeable staff during the park’s “commented meals” and discover the monkeys’ day-today life. You’ll be surprised by their group interactions, rather reminiscent of human behaviour. While the park’s magots might be its headliners, its gelada baboons from Ethiopia (which can also be observed from the eponymous cafeteria) will leave you speechless. A sensory-rich parrot safari. Explore the colourful and “talkative” world of parrots: sun parakeets, macaws, Amazon parrots... Nearly 150 birds call this 1,500-m2 aviary
